Kids Fishing Derby Champions Cruise Lake Champlain On A Trout Charter Trip

On July 16, 2017, Captain Mickey Maynard of Lake Champlain Angler Fishing Charters and Guide Service took this year’s Northgate Kids Fishing Derby winners on a four hour Lake Trout Charter.

Mason Sweetser and Colby Waite, along with and their fathers, reported that the fishing was terrific and they all had a wonderful time. No doubt, just take a look at the smiles on their faces in the pictures below!

“We had a great time with Captain Mick on the lake today! Not only did he donate this trip to the Northgate Youth Fishing Derby, but he was amazing at explaining everything to the kids step-by-step so they understood what we were doing and why. It made their experience that much better, and they learned fishing lessons to last a lifetime. Great time, great fish!” said Colby’s dad, Mike.

Captain Mick said he also “enjoyed the morning and the company. Great kids indeed!”

Last winter, I approached Captain Mick to price a fishing charter for the Grand Prize at Northgate’s 5th Annual Youth Fishing Derby. Captain Mick said he really liked what we were doing for the kids, and he offered to donate the trip for the two category winners and their parents!
